PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 148 more dengue cases, taking the total number of infections recorded during the current season to 729.
According to sources, 47 cases have been reported in Haripur district, prompting concern among health authorities.
Kohat has recorded the highest number of cases in the province, with 274 infections reported so far. Health officials have stressed the need for precautionary measures to contain the spread of the disease.
Following the latest cases, the Haripur deputy commissioner issued directions to relevant departments and called for a meeting of health officials. The authorities also assured that dengue spray and other preventive measures would be carried out.
A meeting chaired by the deputy commissioner was held to review the dengue situation in Haripur and assess ongoing control measures.
The meeting reviewed the identification of dengue hotspots, indoor and outdoor surveillance, elimination of mosquito larvae and sanitation arrangements across the district.
Officials were directed to strengthen preventive measures and ensure effective surveillance to control the spread of dengue.
