PESHAWAR: The situation at the Postgraduate College of Nursing in Hayatabad remains tense after violent clashes on campus.

According to the college administration, the college has been closed until September 12 due to riots and unrest. The administration stated that students and outsiders have once again gathered at the main gate of the college.

Citing concerns that the crowd gathered outside could damage college property, the decision to shut down the institution was taken. An official notification has also been issued suspending classes and ordering the vacation of hostels.

On September 7, students staged a protest in support of their demands at the college. The protest turned violent after police allegedly used force against the students, leading to riots on campus. The administration says further decisions will be made after reviewing the security situation.
