PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi will address a lawyers’ convention at the Sindh High Court Bar today, said PTI leader Shafi Jan.
Speaking to the media, Shafi Jan said the convention would see large participation from PTI leadership and lawyers and would prove to be a milestone for the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law.
He termed CM Sohail Afridi’s visit to Sindh for the street movement “highly successful” and thanked the people of Sindh for their massive turnout. Shafi Jan alleged that “unfortunately, obstacles were created in the path of the Chief Minister’s convoy in Karachi and Hyderabad, however, such petty tactics cannot weaken PTI’s resolve,” he added.
“The elected Chief Minister of 4.5 crore people had to travel on dirt roads in the darkness of night due to these blockades.” He further claimed that the crowd gathered to welcome the Chief Minister at the Karachi Toll Plaza “frightened” the ruling party.
“Let the Form-47 rulers imposed on the country remember that the people are Imran Khan’s real strength,” Shafi Jan said. He added that the monopoly of those who consider Sindh their “political fiefdom” is about to end.
“The system imposed on the country is scared of the political awareness given by founding chairman Imran Khan,” he said. Shafi Jan concluded that the political struggle will continue until the release of founding chairman Imran Khan and the restoration of the Constitution.
