WASHINGTON: A dignified event was organized at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C to mark Defence and Martyrs’ Day.
The ceremony brought together foreign diplomats, civil and military attachés from various countries, senior U.S. government officials, and members of the Pakistani-American diaspora. Attendees paid rich tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to safeguard the country’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Members of the Pakistani-American community turned out in large numbers to express solidarity and deep affection for their homeland.
Addressing the gathering, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, stated that the Pakistani nation set an extraordinary example of valor, national unity, and solidarity against the enemy’s aggressive ambitions during the 1965 war.
Pakistan’s Defense Attaché reaffirmed the unwavering resolve of the armed forces toward national security and stability.
During the event, members of the overseas Pakistani community reiterated their commitment to the progress, survival, and protection of their homeland.
