MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended Deputy Inspector General of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Sajjad Hussain, over allegations of disobeying government orders and alleged negligence and carelessness in the performance of official duties.
According to an official notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department, DIG Sajjad Hussain has been accused of failing to comply with government directives, along with negligence in carrying out official responsibilities.
During the period of suspension, DIG Sajjad Hussain has been attached to the Services and General Administration Department. Sources said further departmental action will be taken in the matter in accordance with rules.
CTD AJK plays a key role given the region’s sensitivity on security matters, especially with LoC proximity and counter-terrorism operations. Suspensions of senior police officers in AJK usually happen after internal inquiries or complaints about non-compliance with directives from the home department or government.
