Peshawar has taken a significant step toward improving its public transport system with the arrival of a new fleet of modern buses. The first batch of 25 newly imported buses, out of a total order of 52 from China, has successfully reached the Karachi Port.
According to officials, the remaining 27 buses are also expected to arrive in Pakistan soon. The addition of these new vehicles will increase the total number of buses in the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) fleet from 244 to 296.
Trans Peshawar authorities stated that expanding the fleet is aimed at enhancing travel convenience for commuters, reducing overcrowding, and improving overall service efficiency.
With the increased number of buses, new routes and corridors will also be introduced to ensure that a larger portion of the city’s population can benefit from this modern transit system.
