ISLAMABAD: Pakistan women’s cricketer and fast bowler Aiman Anwar has announced her immediate retirement from international cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Wednesday.
According to the PCB, Aiman represented Pakistan in eight One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 37 T20 Internationals during her international career.
After she retired from international cricket, Aiman Anwar is taking up the position of cricket referee. In her capacity as a referee, Aiman Anwar has started her new innings as a women’s referee in the ongoing National Women’s Under-19 Tournament in Karachi.
Aiman Anwar has served Pakistan as a fast bowler in international cricket and has been part of the women’s cricket team in both ODI and T20I formats.

Meanwhile, Australia’s star fast bowler Mitchell Starc has risen to the top of the ICC Test bowling rankings for the first time in his career following a standout performance against Bangladesh.
Starc climbed two places after taking 10 wickets in the second Test against Bangladesh, moving ahead of India’s Jasprit Bumrah and New Zealand’s Matt Henry to claim the No. 1 position.
Bumrah, who previously had topped the ICC Test bowling rankings since February 2024, now occupies the second position due to his absence from the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka series along with Mitchell Starc’s excellent performance.
Matt Henry from New Zealand fell two places and occupied the third spot whereas Pat Cummins from Australia jumped one place to occupy the fourth position in the list.
Spin bowler from Australia Nathan Lyon made significant improvements in rankings and climbed two positions to claim the 10th spot.
In the Test batsmen ratings, Harry Brook from England is occupying the first position followed by compatriot Joe Root at second spot.
India’s wicket keeper and batter Rishabh Pant made a considerable leap forward as he climbed six places and secured seventh position in Test batting ratings.
