ISLAMABAD: Retail prices of cement recorded a slight decline in northern parts of Pakistan during the week ended August 20, 2026, while prices in southern regions remained largely unchanged.
According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the average retail price of a 50kg bag of cement in northern cities and areas stood at Rs1,565, down 0.30% from Rs1,569 recorded during the previous week.
Meanwhile, the average retail price in southern cities and areas remained unchanged at Rs1,547 per bag.
The average retail price of cement bag in major northern cities was Rs1,532 in Islamabad, Rs1,535 in Rawalpindi, Rs1,600 in Gujranwala, Rs1,570 in Sialkot, Rs1,590 in Lahore, Rs1,550 in Faisalabad, Rs1,600 in Sargodha, Rs1,591 in Multan, Rs1,560 in Bahawalpur, Rs1,573 in Peshawar and Rs1,510 in Bannu.
In southern cities, the average retail price was Rs1,518 in Karachi, Rs1,600 in Sukkur, Rs1,523 in Larkana, Rs1,520 in Quetta and Rs1,650 in Khuzdar.
It appears that the cement prices remained quite stable across the country with just a slight weekly fall in northern region.
Amongst the cities covered in the statistics by PBS, Khuzdar showed the highest price of Rs1,650 per bag, whereas the lowest price was reported by Bannu at Rs1,510.
