ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 10 Pakistani nationals deported from Turkiye, Italy, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia upon their arrival at Islamabad International Airport.
According to the FIA, its Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Islamabad registered cases against all 10 individuals following the action.
Six of the deportees, who had been repatriated from Turkiye, were allegedly involved in attempts to travel to Europe through illegal means. Those deported from Italy, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia were accused of illegal entry and overstaying their visas.
The FIA spokesperson said the agency seized the suspects’ passports, travel documents and mobile phones for further investigation.
The FIA Immigration officials detained all 10 deportees at Islamabad airport and subsequently handed them over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further legal proceedings.
The agency had also registered cases against 10 Pakistani nationals deported from Turkiye on August 4 for allegedly attempting to cross an international border illegally.
