DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Poor and deserving students at Gomal University are still waiting to receive their need-based scholarship funds, despite the university having reportedly received the required grant from the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
According to sources, the distribution of need-based scholarship cheques has been delayed for several weeks. Students had reportedly been assured that the cheques would be distributed after the grant was received at the end of July.
However, despite the passage of several weeks, many eligible students have yet to receive their scholarship payments.
Need-based scholarship money is extremely important for students who receive financial help for their education. The delay in payment has created financial problems for the students who depend on the money to pursue their education.
The students have asked the university administration to speed up the process of issuing the need-based scholarships and make sure that the deserving students get their money without any further delay.
