RAWALPINDI: Senior journalist and analyst Munib Farooq has claimed that depoloyment of  Army in Rawalpindi is a  a routine move.

He said that deployment of three Pakistan Army companies in Rawalpindi is a routine administrative and security measure and should not be linked to any political activity.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Farooq, citing what he described as credible sources, said the deployment was part of routine security arrangements related to the movement of important personalities and VIPs in the area.

He said attempts to give the deployment a political meaning or link it to any political narrative were unjustified and contrary to the facts.

Farooq’s remarks came amid speculation on social media about the reasons behind the army deployment in Rawalpindi.
