RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif met party founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.
According to local media reports, the meeting took place at the jail on Tuesday night and covered matters related to the PTI and other political issues.
Imran Khan’s health was also discussed during the meeting, amid the ongoing developments concerning his treatment.
The meeting came a day after the Supreme Court ordered that Imran Khan be shifted to a private hospital and directed the formation of a medical board to oversee the matter.
Following the court’s permission, Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Niazi, also met him at Adiala Jail.
According to sources, Niazi met the PTI founder in the conference room, where they discussed his health and other matters. She also briefed him on the Supreme Court’s order regarding his treatment.
The meeting between Imran Khan and Niazi lasted around 45 minutes, sources said.
The latest meeting between Barrister Saif and Imran Khan comes amid heightened attention to the PTI founder’s health and the legal proceedings surrounding his medical treatment.
Imran Khan Not Seeking Any Deal, Says Barrister Gohar
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has said that party founder Imran Khan is not seeking any deal and believes that his continued imprisonment is unjust.
Speaking to reporters at Parliament House, Gohar said the federal government’s review petition had not yet been assigned a number.
“I request that this order be implemented. It took a considerable amount of time to reach this order,” he said.
The PTI chairman also welcomed the authorities’ fulfilment of their commitment to facilitate a meeting between Imran Khan and his sister, Noreen Niazi.
Gohar said he had not spoken to Noreen following her meeting with the PTI founder. He added that her decision not to speak after the meeting showed that she had respected her words and maintained discretion regarding the interaction.
Reiterating his position on Imran Khan’s legal and political situation, Gohar said the PTI founder was not engaged in any deal and considered his continued detention unjust.
