PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) has made valid fitness certificates mandatory for vehicles used by private educational institutions to transport students.
According to a circular issued to principals of all private schools in the province, every vehicle carrying students must possess a valid fitness certificate and comply with all relevant legal requirements.
The PSRA directed private schools to ensure strict compliance with the instructions issued by the provincial Transport Department. School administrations have also been instructed to fulfill all statutory requirements concerning student transport.
The authority warned that schools must ensure that vehicles used for transporting students meet the prescribed safety and fitness standards.
The PSRA has issued the directive to all private school principals across the province, emphasizing the need for full implementation of transport regulations to ensure the safety of students.
370 KP schools submit lists of basic facility needs to education dept
Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department has directed all district education officers to submit details of schools facing shortages of basic facilities and those operating in double shifts through the department’s online system within the stipulated deadline.
According to the Education Department, only 370 schools have so far submitted their requirements regarding shortages of basic facilities, of which just 16 are double-shift schools.
The department has urged all schools whose requirements are still pending to submit the necessary information immediately, as the deadline is approaching and time is running out.
Officials said the data would help ensure that the needs of deserving schools are incorporated into future development planning. Schools have been advised to use the relevant section of the Education Department’s online information system to submit their requirements.
