ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has advised citizens to collect their identity cards promptly once they are ready.

According to a post issued by NADRA, citizens should collect their CNICs as soon as possible after the stipulated processing period has ended.

Under NADRA policy, an uncollected CNIC is destroyed three months after the final delivery date.

Citizens who fail to collect their identity cards within the prescribed period will have to submit a fresh application and pay the applicable fee to obtain a new card.

NADRA also advised citizens not to remain silent if they are unclear about the documents required at a NADRA centre or zonal board, or if they do not understand the instructions provided by staff.

Under the policy, applicants have the right to request written information about the documents required to obtain a particular service. They can ask the relevant officer to provide the requirements in writing.

If the requested written guidance is not provided, citizens can lodge a complaint with NADRA’s customer services.

Complaints can also be submitted through NADRA’s online complaint portal or via email at csd@nadra.gov.pk.
