HARIPUR: Two people, including a health department employee, were killed in separate shooting incidents in Haripur, police said on Sunday.
In the first incident, a woman was allegedly shot dead by her brother following a domestic dispute in the Phullar area within the jurisdiction of Beer police station.
Police said the suspect opened fire on his sister, killing her on the spot, before fleeing the scene. A police team reached the area, collected evidence and launched a search for the suspect.
The victim’s body was shifted to the trauma centre for medico-legal formalities.
In a separate incident near Darvesh Morr on GT Road within the limits of City police station, an unidentified armed man opened fire on a couple travelling on a motorcycle.
The husband was killed in the attack, while his wife remained unharmed.
According to police, both the victim and his wife were employees of the health department and were travelling together when the attacker targeted them.
The assailant fled after the shooting. Police reached the scene, collected evidence and began an investigation into the incident.
Authorities are investigating the motive behind both attacks and efforts are under way to arrest the suspects.
