TAXILA: A popular TikToker Shamsu, also known as Ayesha Gilamana, was killed in a shooting in Taxila on Saturday, while her 15-year-old sister sustained injuries in the incident.
According to police and media reports, Shamsu was travelling towards Rawalpindi with her younger sister when a motorcycle-riding attacker allegedly stopped their vehicle near the Taxila Bypass and opened fire.
Shamsu suffered gunshot wounds to the neck and was critically injured. Media reports said that the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle following the firing, causing it to collide with a dumper. Shamsu later succumbed to her injuries.
Her 15-years old sister, Asmia, was also injured in the crash and was taken to PIMS Hospital in Islamabad for treatment. Soon after the incident, police reached the scene and collected evidence before launching an investigation. The victim’s body was shifted to THQ Hospital Taxila for medico-legal formalities.
Shamsu had reportedly been creating content on TikTok for around four years and had more than 1.3 million followers. Police are also attempting to trace and arrest the suspected assailants and establish the motive behind the killing.
The incident has drawn attention because of Bibi’s substantial social media following and the allegations that she had raised concerns about threats before her death.
