ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to keep petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices unchanged until August 17.

The Petroleum Division said on Saturday that there would be no change in fuel prices over the weekend. A fresh review is expected on August 18.

According to a Petroleum Division spokesperson, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) could not conduct its latest price review because August 14 was an official holiday. Therefore, the existing fuel prices will remain in place for the next three days.

Petrol will continue to be sold at Rs325.43 per litre, while high-speed diesel will remain at Rs383.95 per litre. OGRA notified the current fuel prices on Thursday after approval from the federal government. The price of petrol was increased by 45 paisas per litre, from Rs324.98 to Rs325.43, while the price of HSD rose by Rs1.16 per litre, from Rs382.79 to Rs383.95. The revised prices came into effect from midnight on August 14.
