The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in parts of Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock on Friday, August 7, to facilitate maintenance and development work on 11kV feeders, 132kV grid stations and transmission lines.

According to the power utility, electricity supply will remain suspended in different areas for varying durations, ranging from two to seven hours, depending on the maintenance schedule.

In the Rawalpindi Cantt Operation Circle, outages will affect areas including DHA Homes, Kallar Syedan, Chiriten Colony, Morgah, Park View, BISE Rawalpindi, Barkat Plaza, Zarkoon Plaza, Singapur Plaza and Adamjee Road between 6am and 10am.

In the Jhelum Operation Circle, power supply will remain suspended in Chappar Sharif, Sui Cheemian, Bhadana, Qazian, Jhik Qadir Bux and Maini Borgi from 6am to 10:30am.

Consumers in the Chakwal Operation Circle, including Jamal Wal, Mengan, Karyala and K.S.M. Mills, will face electricity outages from 6am to 12pm.

Meanwhile, in the Attock Operation Circle, scheduled outages will affect Hussain Abad, Lala Zar, GT Road, Convent School, Ahmed Nagar, Gattia Road, Tarnol, Millat Colony, Gulshan Colony, Ittifaq Colony, Industrial Estate Bathar and Faisal Iqbal Town at different times between 5am and 12pm.

IESCO said the temporary shutdown is necessary to carry out essential maintenance and infrastructure improvement works, adding that power supply will be restored as soon as the scheduled work is completed.
