PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the next two to four hours.

According to the latest weather advisory issued rainfall is expected in Khyber, Orakzai, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Nowshera, Peshawar, Charsadda, Buner, Bajaur, Upper Dir and surrounding areas. Isolated locations may experience heavy downpours, strong wind gusts and hailstorms.

The PMD warned that heavy rainfall could trigger flash flooding in local streams and seasonal nullahs in low-lying areas.

The department also cautioned that strong winds, thunderstorms and lightning could damage weak structures, electricity poles, solar panels and trees.

Residents have been advised to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather, and stay updated through official PMD weather advisories.
