Thousands of WhatsApp users around the world have reported that their accounts were suddenly suspended without any apparent reason, leaving many unable to access the messaging platform.

According to users, WhatsApp displayed a notification stating that their account and device information was being reviewed to verify compliance with the platform’s Terms of Service. The message informed affected users that they would receive an update on the review within 24 hours.

Social media platforms were flooded with complaints from users who said their accounts had been unexpectedly blocked despite not being aware of any policy violations.

Meta has acknowledged the issue, confirming that the suspensions were caused by a technical error. The company said it is actively working to resolve the problem and restore access to affected accounts as quickly as possible.

However, Meta has not disclosed which regions were most impacted or provided further details about the underlying cause of the technical issue.

WhatsApp is one of the world’s most widely used messaging platforms, with more than 3 billion users globally. As a result, even a limited technical disruption has the potential to affect a significant number of users worldwide.
