PESHAWAR: A matriculation student was found dead at his home in Peshawar’s Khazana area, with police investigating the incident after family members said he had been distressed over his examination results.

The deceased, identified as Uzair, was discovered in a room at his residence. Police said preliminary findings indicate that he died by hanging. The incident has been recorded at Khazana Police Station, and an investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

As per the information provided by the father of the deceased, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) released the results of the annual matriculation examination a day before. He said that his son had been very much dejected due to the lower marks he had obtained.

The police arrived at the spot immediately upon receipt of the complaint and completed all necessary legal formalities and initiated the probe in the case.

The case has again brought into light the issue of psychological effects on students from academic stress, especially during examinations. This matter is continuously emphasized by educationists and psychologists.
