ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced an undergraduate scholarship opportunity for Pakistani students to pursue Information Technology (IT) studies at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) for the September/October 2026 academic intake.

According to the HEC, eligible Pakistani and AJK nationals are encouraged to apply for the programme, which offers a full tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of the degree, ranging from three to four years. Depending on the selected programme, the scholarship is valued between $10,000 and $25,000.

Students enrolled under the programme may also have the opportunity to transfer to selected international partner universities affiliated with SLIIT, subject to the admission policies and tuition requirements of the host institution.

Graduates will receive internationally recognized qualifications awarded by SLIIT and its partner universities.

Applicants must have completed HSSC, A-Levels, or an equivalent qualification, meet the minimum admission requirements for their chosen programme, and demonstrate strong academic performance, generally between 75% and 90% or its equivalent. A valid passport and all required supporting documents are also mandatory.

Candidates awaiting their final HSSC or A-Level certificates may apply by submitting a certified completion or hope certificate issued by the relevant education authority.

The HEC clarified that the scholarship covers tuition fees only. Students will be responsible for all other expenses, including accommodation, meals, airfare, visa charges, health insurance, and other personal costs.
