ISLAMABAD: Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said that he parts ways with Jamaat-e-Islami and will work as a human rights activist in the future.

He said that the night he made this decision was emotionally very difficult for him, and he kept crying to himself. Speaking on a private TV program, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said that on September 19, while joining the Samood Flotilla, he decided to withdraw from Jamaat-e-Islami, but the relationship of respect and honor between him and Jamaat-e-Islami still exists today. Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said that he will now continue to work in favour of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui and Palestine and offer his services in the field of human rights. He made it clear that he will not be affiliated with any political party in the future.

The former senator also said that his relations with Jamaat-e-Islami have always been based on respect and love, and he will remain grateful to Jamaat-e-Islami.
