UPPER DIR: All government schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Upper Dir district will reopen from August 1, 2026, after the provincial government withdrew its earlier notification announcing a two-day closure of educational institutions.
According to the District Education Officer (DEO) Upper Dir, normal academic activities will resume across all educational institutions from Saturday, and schools will remain open according to the regular schedule.
The DEO clarified that there will be no holidays on Friday and Saturday, and all schools will continue routine teaching activities as usual.
Both teaching and non-teaching personnel have been told to make sure of their attendance and heads of schools have been asked to make all the necessary preparations before resuming work.
Students, parents, and staff members were also informed not to pay heed to any news floating around on WhatsApp unofficial groups by the DEO Male Upper Dir.
The education authorities in the district further clarified that classes will commence following the usual schedule, thus removing any doubt due to the initial notice for closure.

Earlier, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar has announced that the results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examinations 2026 will be declared on August 4.
According to a statement issued by the board, the results will be uploaded to its official website after 2:00 pm on the scheduled date. A special ceremony will also be held the same day to honour the position holders.
The students will be able to get their results through the official website of the board after they are declared.
The board also announced that Detailed Marks Certificates (DMCs) would be available from August 10.
The regular candidates could collect their DMCs from their respective educational institutions, whereas the private candidates would collect the DMCs from the places specified by the board.
This announcement gives relief to thousands of candidates awaiting their matriculation results.
