RAWALPINDI: Two members of the US House of Representatives, Ryan Keith Zinke and Michael James, met with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, bilateral defense cooperation, and opportunities to strengthen economic relations between Pakistan and the United States.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s economic potential and emphasized that sustainable regional stability depends on economic growth, expanded trade, and enhanced regional connectivity.
He also briefed the delegation on ongoing economic reforms in Pakistan, stating that the initiatives aim to promote a business-friendly environment and attract foreign investment.
According to ISPR, the US delegation acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and economic development. Discussions also covered opportunities for greater economic cooperation, private-sector partnerships, and increased trade relations between the two countries.
US lawmakers thanked the Pakistani military leadership for the warm welcome and expressed their commitment to further strengthening economic, commercial, and institutional ties between Pakistan and the United States.
