MIRPUR: The people of Mirpur Division have expressed confidence in the power of the vote instead of taking to protests, choosing to exercise their constitutional, legal and democratic right to vote.

Rejecting the Public Action Committee’s call for agitation on July 27 the fourth such call after three previous calls, citizens turned out in large numbers to take part in the electoral process.

Polling for 13 Legislative Assembly seats across Mirpur Division is underway today, July 27, in a peaceful atmosphere. As polling began at 8:00 AM, voters started arriving at polling stations in large numbers and were casting their votes with great enthusiasm.

The overall public sentiment reflects that citizens prefer to make decisions through democratic and constitutional means rather than through protests. Officials said that security arrangements have been put in place and polling is continuing smoothly across all constituencies of Mirpur Division.

Long queues were witnessed outside several polling stations from the morning hours. Political analysts say the high turnout signals public trust in democratic institutions and a clear rejection of calls for disruption.

Voters stated that issues should be resolved through the ballot and that participation in elections is the best way to ensure representation and development. The polling process is expected to continue until evening.
