PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and parts of northern Pakistan are experiencing monsoon rains and thunderstorms today, with the weather department forecasting continued wet conditions over the next 48 hours.

According to the latest forecast, KP will see isolated thunderstorms late in the day with temperatures ranging between 33°C and 25°C.

Early morning hours brought thunderstorms and overcast skies across the province, with humidity levels above 80%. In Peshawar, light rain showers are expected with a high of 34°C. Areas like Doaba and Lundian are also likely to see morning drizzle and afternoon thunderstorms.

Meanwhile in Islamabad, the capital recorded light rain overnight. Rain is expected to intensify in the evening, with a 65-71% chance of rain between 5:00 PM and 8 PM. A total of 1.11 inches of rain is predicted for today.

Officials have advised citizens to stay cautious during thunderstorms and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy downpours. The Pakistan Meteorological Department says strong thunderstorms are likely again on Friday with up to 1.17 inches of rain expected in KP.
