BUNER: Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed various parts of Buner on Wednesday, causing a sharp rise in water levels in local streams and seasonal waterways.
A tragic incident occurred in the Kalabat area, where a rickshaw driver was swept away by fast-flowing rainwater after being caught in a flash flood.
Rescue teams immediately launched a search operation. After hours of efforts, rescuers recovered the body of the deceased driver, identified as Syab.
The heavy rainfall also led to flooding in seasonal streams, prompting authorities to urge residents to avoid crossing flooded roads and waterways as more rain could pose further risks. Rescue officials advised the public to exercise extreme caution during adverse weather conditions.
