A rain-bearing weather system has developed over various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with widespread rainfall expected across the province during the next six hours, the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
According to the PMD, intermittent rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is likely in Chitral, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Buner, Dir, Kohistan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan.
Isolated areas may experience heavy downpours. The Met Office warned that persistent rainfall could trigger flash floods in local streams and seasonal nullahs, particularly in the mountainous districts of the province.
It also cautioned that landslides remain a risk in vulnerable hilly areas. The PMD has advised residents and local authorities to remain vigilant, take precautionary measures and stay updated through official weather advisories as the weather system continues to affect the region.
