BANNU: The district administration of Bannu has imposed restrictions under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code from July 13 to July 18, 2026, ahead of the upcoming Anti-Polio Campaign Special Activity (COMVI) scheduled from July 13 to 16.
According to an official order issued by Deputy Commissioner Bannu Muhammad Fahim, the decision was taken following reports of security threats and previous attacks on police teams and security personnel during anti-polio campaigns.
The order stated that restrictions were necessary to maintain public safety and prevent any activities that could threaten the security of polio workers and law enforcement personnel. Under the Section 144 order, the following activities have been banned across Bannu district:
The district administration warned that anyone violating the order would face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The Deputy Commissioner directed that the order be widely publicized through official channels, including the Gazette, electronic media, and print media, to ensure public awareness.
The restrictions will remain in effect until July 18, 2026, as part of security measures for the smooth conduct of the anti-polio vaccination campaign.
