BRISTOL: England sealed an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match T20 International series after defeating India by nine wickets in the fourth match at Bristol on Friday.
While winning the toss and batting first, India failed to get going even with a brilliant knock by their skipper Shreyas Iyer, who was not out on 80 runs in 49 deliveries. The visitors ended up making 158-7 in their 20 overs allocation.
Meanwhile, England’s bowling side took care of all the wickets among themselves, with Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue picking up two wickets each.
Coming to chase the 159 runs target, England managed to score 159-1 in 13.5 overs.
Harry Brook made an unbeaten knock of 79 off 35 balls while Phil Salt made 59 off 42 deliveries. An unbeaten 144 runs partnership between them helped them chase down the target comfortably.
This resulted in giving England a lead of 3-0 in the five-match series with one more game left.
India have been struggling in this series after being hammered in the third T20I when they were bowled out for 76 runs while chasing 201.
