The IGP was informed that during the last six months, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has foiled major terrorist activities as a result of 2004 intelligence-based operations and arrested 504 terrorists, including 14 high-value terrorists.

Similarly, 82 terrorists were killed in encounters with the police, while 294 attacks were launched on the police, of which 161 were successfully repelled, and 341 drone attacks by terrorists were foiled with the help of modern anti-drone technology.

It is worth noting that the first UAV division of the police in Pakistan was also inaugurated in March this year, which was created to disable terrorist drones and conduct further research on them. A meeting was held today at the Central Police Office, Peshawar, under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed, in which the overall law and order situation in the province was reviewed.

A detailed report on the police performance of the last 6 months in the light of the rise in crimes in the province during the current year and the steps taken to prevent them was presented in the meeting. 122 officers and personnel of the frontline force against terrorism sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, while 175 personnel were injured.

During the last six months, CTD Mardan successfully killed one terrorist and arrested three terrorists through forensic analysis of cellular data. The arrested terrorists were involved in planning a blast at an Imambargah in Islamabad. CTD Peshawar killed two terrorists who martyred Police Constable Sanaullah.

The terrorists were involved in target killings and attacks on police. Three terrorists were killed while acting on information about the movement of a terrorist organization in Charsadda district, while the leader of the terrorist group, Commander Noor Islam alias Khog Badshah, who was involved in the martyrdom of three policemen in Shangla district, was killed along with two of his associates, including a suicide bomber.

Similarly, a policeman was martyred in the attack on the police post of Badwan Pul in Lower Dir, and 6 dangerous terrorists involved in several other terrorist acts were also brought to justice. During various operations of CTD this year, 1771 kg of explosives, 91 hand grenades, 02 suicide jackets, 02 RPGs, 07 RPG shells, 08 shotguns, 52 pistols, and 45 SMGs were recovered.

In the last six months, 122 personnel, including officers and soldiers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, who were fighting on the front lines against terrorists and criminals, were martyred, and 175 were injured.

The IGP was informed about the police action against drug dealers, advertisers and arms and weapons in the province that during this period, approximately 9158.806 kg of drugs were recovered and 10197 FIRs were registered under the Narcotics Act against the accused involved in drug smuggling, in which 10718 accused were arrested and 7577.320 kg of hashish, 385.618 kg of opium, 246.450 kg of heroin, 949.418 kg of ice and 1137 bottles of liquor and 26523 liters were recovered from their possession.

While giving a briefing regarding the recovery of arms and weapons, it was informed that during the said period, a total of 21903 cases were registered while 21355 involved accused were arrested, from whose possession a total of 1457 rifles, 2994 shotguns, 25805 pistols, 141 daggers, 943047 cartridges, 1821 Kalashnikovs, 236 Kalakovs, 93 hand grenades, 08 Sten guns, 02 pistols, 5117 detonators and 1215 dynamites and LMGs were recovered. The IGP was further informed that 10173 criminals were arrested during this period.

While 103 criminals were killed in police encounters. The IGP was further informed that during the last six months, 2742 search and strike operations were conducted against criminals in the province under the National Action Plan, in which 10540 criminals/suspects were arrested, and various arms, ammunition, and prohibited items were recovered. During the operations, 39171 houses and 14098 hotels were checked, and 1598 and 73 cases were registered for violations, respectively. Moreover, 15003 suspects were detained during snap checks at 39106 locations in the province.

During the same period, 8125 Afghans residing illegally without legal documents were detained, and 6469 FIRs were registered against them under the Foreigners Act. The IGP was further informed that 643 cases were registered for illegal use of loudspeakers, and 817 people involved were arrested. Similarly, 17234 educational institutions were checked, and 700 cases were registered against violators. Along with this, 732 cases were registered against violators after checking 19416 sensitive places. During the last six months, a total of 3768 complaints of various natures were received in the IGP Complaint Cell (PAS), out of which 1928 complaints have been resolved.

For public welfare, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police upgraded the Police Sahulat Markaz app to the Police Sahulat Markaz Global application and also launched Street Crime Pulse, through which not only are the additional facilities provided by the Sahulat Markaz available at the doorstep of the house, but also the public can record crimes occurring at any location on their phones and report them to the police. In addition, the SOS app released by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has also been upgraded for better performance.

2041 cases were received in the Dispute Resolution Councils (DRCs), out of which 1498 disputes were resolved with mutual consent and understanding of the parties, while the remaining 258 were sent to the relevant forum for legal advice, and 285 disputes are under hearing.
