DIR UPPER: River swept away two children while bathing in Upper Dir river on Monday.
The body of one child was recovered during the rescue operation, while local people and volunteers are actively searching for another body of the children.
A tragic incident has taken place in the Akhgram area of Upper Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where two children who went to bathe in the river drowned due to the intense heat. After the incident, chaos erupted in the area, and rescue activities were started.
According to local sources, the two children were bathing in the river when they suddenly went into deep water and drowned. As soon as the information was received, local people and volunteers immediately started rescue operations.
During the rescue operation, the body of one child was recovered from the river, while the other child is still missing. Local volunteers and local people are engaged in a search operation to find the missing child on their own.
According to eyewitnesses, rescue operations are facing difficulties due to the rapid flow and depth of water in the river. Till the last reports, no trace of the missing child could be found. Residents of the area have appealed to the district administration to immediately dispatch modern equipment and rescue teams to the area so that the missing child can be found as soon as possible.
