The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has foiled an alleged plot to attack sensitive installations on Saturday arrested an agent who was spying for India’s intelligence agency ‘RAW’.
In a major and successful operation in Okara, the CTD officials said that based on a tip-off, a raid was conducted at Kohinoor City on Faisalabad Road, Okara, where the said agent was present and had taken shelter there with the nefarious intention of targeting sensitive installations.
During the operation, the accused was taken into custody and a large quantity of sabotage equipment was recovered from his possession, which included explosives, a Prima card, detonators, electric wires, three batteries and two mobile phones, which were allegedly to be used in a major sabotage incident.
According to the CTD, the arrested agent identified as Roz Ali Khan, who hails from the Urmar Miana area of Peshawar. After initial action, the accused has been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation and investigation.
However, a case was registered against the accused under espionage, terrorism and related charges, and has launched an investigation. Officials said the probe is ongoing and further significant disclosures are expected.
