SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: The Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court has formally approved the facility of court proceedings through video link for South Waziristan Lower Waziristan, which has also been implemented. The move was welcomed by the people, lawyers and social circles of the area and described it as an important milestone towards timely delivery of justice.
Local residents say that in the past, they had to travel long distances to other districts for judicial matters, which significantly increased time, resources and costs. Through the new video link facility, citizens will now be able to appear before the court from their district, which will not only enable early hearing of cases but also relieve the public from travel difficulties.
The residents of the area thanked the Chief Justice Peshawar High Court and said that this decision is a positive step towards providing modern judicial facilities to the people of the merged districts. He expressed hope that in the future, all the important district government institutions along with other offices of the judiciary in Lower Waziristan would be shifted to Vana so that the people could get timely and quality government services in their own district.
According to public and social circles, strengthening the institutional structure in the merged districts, improving the judicial system and availability of government offices at the local level will not only increase public confidence but also promote development, prosperity and effective governance in the region.
The citizens demanded the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and relevant agencies to make all basic government departments functional in Lower South Waziristan taking into account the needs of the people so that people do not have to travel to remote areas.
