PESHAWAR: At least 40 persons were killed, and 08 others were injured when a passenger bus going from Quetta to plunged into a ravine near Sherani District, Divisional Headquarters Zhob, Balochistan on Friday morning.
There were 48 passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident. Upon receiving the information, rescue teams from Emergency Services Zhob and Rescue 1122 Frontier Region Darazandha, District Dera Ismail Khan, immediately reached the accident site and started rescue activities.
After providing first aid to the 8 people injured in the accident, they were shifted to DHQ Hospital, Zhob. The bodies of the 40 people who died in the accident were initially shifted to the RHC located near the accident site. Later, the joint teams of Rescue 1122 FR Darazandha and Emergency Services Zhob shifted all the bodies to DHQ Hospital Zhob.
Rescue teams are participating in relief operations alongside Emergency Services Balochistan to provide all possible facilities and timely assistance to the injured, deceased, and their families.
Director General Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that if citizens from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were among the deceased in the accident, Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will transport their dead bodies to their native areas with full respect through its ambulances, so that all possible facilities can be provided to the affected families in this difficult time.
Rescue 1122 relief teams are in full contact with other relevant agencies, and relief operations are underway.
