Awami National Party activists widely criticized the decision of the government to withdraw security of ANP leader Senator Aimal Wali Khan and hold protest demonstration against this decision of the government.
Dozens of armed ANP workers gathered at the Mardan district office and strongly condemned this decision of the government in harsh words. Addressing the party workers Mardan Mayor Himayat Mayar announced that from now on, Aimal Wali Khan will manage his own security.
Himayat Mayar said, that today the Pashtuns have come out to protect their leader, and this message is especially for Shehbaz Sharif, Talal Chaudhry, and Maryam Nawaz that the Pashtun nation knows how to protect its leadership.’
The workers raised loud slogans at the district office and termed the decision to withdraw their leader’s security as part of political pressure. On this occasion, Himayat Mayar said that ANP workers are fully prepared to defend their leader at any cost and the government must reverse its decision.
He said that Awami National Party have lost hundred of party workers and leader due to poor security arrangements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and now onward Awami National Party will not compromise over the security of their leadership.
