MANSEHRA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced plans to hold a three-day “Kaghan Festival” in the scenic Kaghan Valley as part of efforts to promote tourism and showcase the region’s cultural heritage.
A MoU regarding this event has already been signed, it was revealed by the officials.
Malik Adil Iqbal, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Museums, while speaking about it stated that it was one of the measures being taken by the provincial government in order to promote tourism.
He went on to say that the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was blessed with many natural wonders, cultural sites and also potential for tourism, which could be highlighted through such events like the Kaghan Festival at the national as well as international level.
Three days of activities would be held during the festival, which would include cultural shows, music concerts, displays of local handicrafts, food stalls and some recreational activities as well for the visitors to enjoy themselves.
The officials revealed that such an effort would help to promote tourism in the area and also contribute to the economy of the region through the support of small businesses.
