Quetta Anti-Terrorism Court sentences Mahrang Baloch and Sibghatullah Shah to life imprisonment for the murder of FC soldier Shabbir Baloch during Raji Machhi March.
The horrific day of February 2024, when Mahrang Baloch and his followers took out a chaotic march called “Raji Machhi,” reached its logical conclusion in the courtroom today. In this march that started from Quetta, Marang Baloch spread chaos at every turn and every route.
According to investigation reports, armed men in his convoy carried out numerous attacks on security forces and tried to challenge the state writ. When the march reached the peaceful area of Gwadar, a new story of brutality emerged under the leadership of Mahrang Baloch and Sibghatullah Shah.
Shabbir Baloch, a Frontier Corps soldier on duty, was surrounded by anarchists. The attackers killed martyr Shabbir Baloch with stones and then desecrated the martyr’s body. A long legal battle continued for two years after this incident.
During this time, the accused and their followers threatened the judges and made endless efforts to disrupt the case so that the process of justice could be sabotaged. Today, the Quetta Anti-Terrorism Court gave its verdict after considering all the evidence and testimonies.
The court sentenced Marang Baloch, who was declared a recruitment agent of “Fitna-ul-Hindustan”, and her accomplice Sibghatullah Shah to life imprisonment for the murder of FC official Shabbir Baloch. The court’s verdict was described as a victory of justice by state institutions and the families of the martyrs.
