ISLAMABAD: The Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik said that the subsidy scheme for motorcyclists will probably be discontinued within few days.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will take the final decision regarding the scheme for motorcyclists, and he will consult with the provinces regarding the scheme.
He said that the relief scheme for motorcyclists was given by the federal government in collaboration with the provincial governments.
Ali Pervaiz Malik said that the federal government gave relief of Rs 130 billion to motorcyclists, and the money was transferred to motorcyclists who provided excise data.
It should be noted that after the petrol prices were increased, the provincial governments including the federal government started giving Rs 2,000 per month to motorcyclists as a petrol subsidy.
An app was also developed in this regard in which motorcyclists had to register, after which they are getting Rs 2,000.
Now the government reduced the price of petrol by Rs 74.28 and diesel by Rs 67.31 per liter.
The new price of petrol has become Rs 299.50 per liter and the new price of diesel has become Rs 311.47 per liter.
