RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of the Republic of Ghana, hold meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

According to ISPR upon his arrival at GHQ, the visiting military leader was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, and bilateral defence cooperation. Both delegations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening military-to-military ties, with particular focus on joint training initiatives, counter-terrorism cooperation, and defence production.

Lieutenant General Agyapong praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their role in promoting regional peace and stability.

Separately, Ghana’s National Security Coordinator, H.E. Abdul Razak Osman, held meetings with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters in Islamabad. Lieutenant General William Agyapong was also present during the engagements.

The high-level interactions underscored the growing defence and security cooperation between Pakistan and Ghana, with both sides expressing a desire to further expand collaboration across military and strategic domains.
