KARACHI: Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) extending the ban on the use of Pakistani airspace by Indian aircraft, officials confirmed.
According to the NOTAM, the ban on both civilian and military aircraft from India will continue in operation from June 16 to July 24.
This implies that flights by India will still be banned from entering or passing through Pakistan airspace even with this extension.
The officials stated that this was in line with a policy of banning aircraft from accessing airspace, and this particular extension had no variation from previous policies.
The Pakistan Airports Authority stated that the NOTAM formalizes the continuation of the restriction, which applies to all Indian aircraft operations within national airspace boundaries.
No further details were provided regarding the reasons for the extension, while aviation authorities continue routine monitoring of international flight operations in the region.
