ISLAMABAD: Pakistani students seeking higher education abroad have been presented with a major opportunity as Germany’s fully funded scholarship programs open applications for eligible candidates in select fields of study.
As per details, the funding of these scholarships comes as a result of the DAAD Helmut-Schmidt-Programme or Master’s Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance. This program is entirely funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and is meant for those who qualify from developing and emerging countries.
The scholarships have been granted to those whose academic qualifications lie in social sciences, law, politics, economics, and public management. The qualified applicants shall pursue their master’s degrees in Germany in seven specialized courses.
This program aims at training leaders who shall be able to promote democratic principles, good governance, and social justice in their own countries. They would further help to improve public-sector capacity through training of individuals for important roles within the sectors.
As far as benefits of this program are concerned, the qualified applicants shall be provided with all the financial support needed during their period of study.
The deadline for submitting applications will be July 31, 2026. It has been recommended that eligible Pakistani graduates apply for the scholarship at an earlier stage, given its highly competitive nature.
The Helmut-Schmidt Program of DAAD is considered one of the most prestigious scholarship programs offered in Germany, for students from Global South countries, particularly those who have displayed high academic calibre and public service leadership.
