Iran–US Deal to Be Named “Islamabad Agreement”
Meanwhile, a proposed agreement between the United States and Iran is expected to be formally named the “Islamabad Agreement,” according to a report by Axios.
Citing sources familiar with the negotiations, Axios reported that the naming reflects the role of regional mediation efforts, including talks hosted and facilitated in Islamabad.
The proposed deal is part of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and establishing a framework for broader negotiations between Washington and Tehran. However, officials involved in the process have not yet confirmed final approval or signing of the agreement.
The development comes amid continued uncertainty over the status of US–Iran negotiations, with both sides previously signalling progress but also cautioning that key details remain unresolved.
