The Provincial Doctors Association PDA has announced a protest in front of the Health Secretariat on June 4 and warned that they would extend their strike if their demands were not fulfilled.

The association has appealed to doctors of all cadres across the province to participate in the protest. According to PDA, 16-point demands of doctors have been submitted to the government.

The spokesperson said that if the demands are not resolved immediately, the protest will be further expanded by giving a future action plan. PDA has demanded that the salaries of doctors of all cadres be increased in line with inflation, and nepotism, corruption, and hand-holding in high positions in the health department be eliminated.

The association also demanded a halt to the privatization of government hospitals, immediate promotions of all doctors, and ensuring third-party audits and merit-based appointments to eliminate corruption in MTI hospitals.

The PDA rejected the facial recognition system, additional taxes, and measures to harass doctors, saying that if these measures were not approved, they would continue their strike.
