ISLAMABAD: Significant progress has been made in digitizing the payment of passport fees, promising greater convenience for Pakistani citizens.
According to ARY News, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, DG of Immigration, met Lt Gen Muhammad Munir, the chairman of NADRA. Both officials agreed during the meeting that cooperation between NADRA and the Directorate of Immigration and Passports must be improved.
It has been informed by the officials that soon, Pakistani citizens will be enabled to pay the passport fee in a digitized manner using platforms such as Jazz Cash, Easypaisa, and One Link with the help of QR codes.
It should also be noted that the meeting discussed many topics regarding departmental operations and digitalization of the data entry process, aiming to make it faster and more convenient.
Before the meeting, Muhammad Ali Randhawa had visited the Regional Passport Office of G-10, Islamabad. He was briefed about various services provided by the office and listened to the grievances of Pakistani citizens. He then directed the officials to solve the issues reported and monitor cashless systems in the office, showing his satisfaction with the system’s effective use.
