In a big relief for inflation-hit citizens, the federal government has decided to cut petroleum product prices once again.

‎On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the price of petrol and diesel has been reduced by Rs 22 per litre each. The aim is to provide direct economic relief to the common man.

‎According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, providing relief to the public is among the government’s top priorities. PM Shehbaz Sharif had promised the nation that as soon as fiscal space is created, its benefit will be passed on to the people immediately.

‎The statement added that petroleum product prices were also cut last week, and this decision is a continuation of that policy.

‎It further said that despite extremely tough economic conditions, the federal government has continued the relief drive. Under this, special fuel subsidies have also been given to public transport, goods transport, motorcyclists and rickshaw drivers.
