PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is going to reduce the property transfer fees and also challenge the federal tax imposed by the federal government on the transfer of immovable property, which would significantly reduce the property tax in the province.

The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minster Ali Amin Gandapur. The property business was badly affected after the imposition of heavy taxes by the Federal government on property, which had also affected the property dealers in the provinces. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to reduce the tax and also to challenge the federal tax imposed by the Federal Bureau of Revenue. If the decision comes in favour of the KP government, it would reduce the property tax on transfer and would streamline the business in the province.
