Iran announced the establishment of a surveillance zone up to Emirati state of Fujairah, announcing a new administrative structure in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the Persian Gulf Strait of Hormuz, Iran has introduced an unusual system of new permits and surveillance in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has also implemented a coordination and fee system for shipping.
The Strait of Hormuz Surveillance Zone extends from the Iranian island of Qeshm to the south of the Emirati state of Fujairah. The Persian Gulf Strait Authority says all ships entering the Strait of Hormuz zone should contact Iranian authorities.
