NOWSHERA (Fazal Nabi): Assistant Commissioner, Jehangira, was critically injured when unidentified assailants attacked a vehicle he was travelling in along with Assistant Commissioner, Jehangira, Nowshera, on Wednesday, Police said.
The Jehangira tehsil’s tehsildar received several bullets and was critically wounded; however, the Assistant Commissioner miraculously survived the gun attack.
As per the police report, the vehicle was badly damaged due to intense firing. The injured Tehsildar was immediately shifted to the hospital.
The police have registered a case on the complaint of the injured Tehsildar and launched an investigation into the brutal attack. The motive behind the attack could not be immediately ascertained.
An eyewitness told the police that the official’s van was attacked by unknown armed men, and the suspects, who were travelling in a black car, came from the front and opened fire straight at them.
